The construction of the new headquarters of the State Central Laboratory is in the final stretch. The unit, which is managed by the state Department of Health, will have a structure of approximately 2,500 square meters, built in an annex to the State Central Hospital, located in the Administrative Political Center, in Cuiabá. The work, which began in January 2022, is 95% completed and received investments of R$16 million.
The Secretary of State for Health, Gilberto Figueiredo, highlighted the importance of the work for specialized care in Mato Grosso. “The construction of the new Lacen headquarters is the result of hard work, which will benefit thousands of Mato Grosso residents. In addition to structural improvements, we are investing in new technological equipment. The objective is to have one of the most modern and efficient Central Laboratories in the country in Mato Grosso,” he declared.
The secretary also recalled Governor Mauro Mendes’ enthusiasm in announcing the work and monitoring its construction. According to him, the large investment was only possible to be implemented after the financial restructuring, carried out by the current management through the payment of public accounts.
According to the deputy secretary of Information Technology Infrastructure at SES, Mayara Galvão, this work is also within the delivery schedule foreseen by the agency. “This work is the result of an investment of R$16 million and is part of the planning to modernize public health in Mato Grosso. This investment will help improve care and the quality of work of healthcare professionals, including improvements in equipment and access to the service along with a modern and functional structure”, he concluded.
