The new units represent a significant step towards expanding Primary Health Care in Rio Grande do Sul. UBS are the gateway to the Unified Health System (SUS) for the population, offering a series of essential services, such as medical consultations and nursing, vaccination, prenatal and dental care, among others.

The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, highlights the importance of investment in improving the quality of life of the population of Rio Grande do Sul. “This New PAC Health ordinance is a milestone in the resumption of family health in the state. It means more health posts with Family Health teams, which guarantee a humanized welcome and quality services for the population”, states the minister.

The Secretary of Primary Health Care, Felipe Proenço, highlights the federal government’s commitment to speeding up the release of resources. “Our goal is to approve and enable all 1,800 proposals selected by the program by the end of May. We are working together with the states and municipalities to ensure that works begin as quickly as possible”, explains the secretary.

The complete list of municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul that will receive the new UBS is available at the Ministry of Health’s ordinance.

States and municipalities selected to receive resources from the New PAC Saúde are in the midst of the formalization stage, which consists of completing the formalization proposal online on the InvestSUS website by May 10th.

Investment in the construction of new UBS not only guarantees greater access to quality healthcare for the population, but also boosts the local economy, generating employment and income during construction.
