Cook is victim of rape outside condominium in Campinas

João Alexandrino da Silva, 31 years old, was the victim of rape in front of the condominium where he lives in Avenida Doutor Campos Salesin the Center of Campinas, sp)in the early hours of last Sunday, the 28th.

The man, who works as a cook, reported, in an interview with EPTV, a Globo affiliate, that he was waiting for the app driver when he was approached by the attacker, who grabbed him from behind and pressed him against the condominium gate.

The cook said that the attacker appeared to be carrying an object similar to a knife, that he tried to pull down the victim’s pants and even took his own genitals out of his pants.

“I felt something in my leg, you know? Like a knife. I was so stunned, until now, that I didn’t do anything. He said: just don’t scream”, said the victim, who called the situation “humiliating”.

With the arrival of the app driver, João Alexandrino says he managed to free himself from the attacker and run to the car. He was on his way to work. A security camera caught the crime.

The case was registered at the 1st Police District of Campinas as a completed rape, which carries a penalty of 6 to 10 years in prison. The Civil Police requested images from security cameras to assist in the investigation.
