On this Labor Day holiday, celebrated this Wednesday (1/5), public services, tourist attractions and cultural facilities in the Federal District may have changes to their operating scheme. Check out:

Business

The Retail Trade Union of the Federal District (Sindivarejista) reported that the stores continue with their usual operations, with some being able to operate with relative Sunday hours.

Banks

Bank branches will not be open for in-person service to the public, according to the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). Customers can use the banks’ digital and remote channels, such as websites and apps, to make transfers and pay bills on days when there are no opening hours at the branches. Bank compensations, including TED, will also not be effective during the period.

Pix, which operates 24 hours every day and on holidays, can be used normally.

Transport

Public transport in the DF, Public Bus and Metro System, will operate with reduced schedules. Check it out here.

Health

The emergencies of hospitals It is Emergency Care Units will operate normally during the Labor Day holiday, this Wednesday (1st). Check out what they are:

samu – 24-hour service by calling 192.

Emergencies – The emergencies at regional hospitals, the Emergency Care Units (UPAs) and the São Sebastião Birth Center provide uninterrupted service, 24 hours a day.

Care for dengue patients – The 11 reception tents will be in operation. Check opening times and locations here.

UBSs and Vaccination – There will be no service during the holiday.

Oral Health – There will be no dental care in Basic Health Units (UBSs) or in Dental Specialty Centers (CEOs) this holiday. The emergency dental service normally operates 24 hours a day in the emergency room of the Asa Norte Regional Hospital (Hran).

Caps – Psychosocial Care Centers (Caps) type III and Psychosocial Care Centers for Alcohol and other Drugs III (Caps AD III) operate normally, with 24-hour reception. Caps types I and II and the Child and Youth Psychosocial Care Center (Capsi) are not open.

High-cost pharmacies – The units of the Specialized Component of Pharmaceutical Assistance (Ceaf), better known as High-Cost Pharmacies, are closed this holiday.

Outpatient clinics and polyclinics – Outpatient clinics and polyclinics will not open, returning to normal service on Thursday (2).

Blood Center – No operation on public holidays.

Public security

The Public Security Secretariat of the Federal District (SSP-DF) announced that the security forces and Civil Defense will act as follows:

PMDF

The Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) operates 24 hours a day, every day of the week, without interruption, including weekends and holidays. The telephone number for emergencies is 190.

PCDF

All 31 district police stations in the Federal District operate on an uninterrupted 24-hour shift basis. The corporation responds by calling 191.

CBMDF

The Federal District Military Fire Department (CBMDF) operates around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including on holidays, to respond to emergencies. Contact can be made by calling 193. Internal administrative services are closed on weekends and holidays.

Caesb

The Federal District Environmental Sanitation Company (Caesb) will not have commercial hours, but the maintenance teams will work on-call.

Zoo

The Brasília Zoo will hold a special event in partnership, with a program full of activities for the whole family.

The day’s program includes activities for all ages, from inflatable toys and face painting to challenges such as a mechanical bull and trampoline, ping-pong tables and foosball and pedal karts. Also, from 10 am there will be magic performances to delight the whole family.

The event will be from 8:30 am to 5 pm, but tickets will be sold until 4 pm.

Tickets for the event cost R$10 for full entry and R$5 for half-price. Members of the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) will be able to enjoy the event free of charge by presenting their card.
