Police are looking for suspects who broke into stores in the center of BH to steal jewelry

Men broke through walls of three stores to access the jewelry store. The Civil Police reported that they are investigating the robbery and looking for the suspects.

The image recorded by the security circuit shows one of the thieves covering the camera. He used a cloth to hide his face and then covered the equipment (see video above).

According to one of the victims, the criminals took the watches that were in a showcase and all the gold products, causing a loss of almost R$500 thousand.

“Everything I managed to gather, accumulate, in these 50 years, unfortunately was taken in a few hours. The hope is that the competent authorities will look for information, right? That I can recover my merchandise, right? That was a lot of work”, said the jewelry store owner.

Traders believe the crime was planned. According to them, the suspects possibly knew details about the stores’ security and managed to “circumvent” the alarm sensors to deactivate electronic monitoring.

“They went straight to the cameras and took out the DVR, which is where the images are recorded,” said a shopkeeper. “They got down to avoid triggering the alarm and crawled,” said the jewelry store manager.

The theft happened around 8am. However, the Military Police were only called at night, when the A bakery employee arrived at work and saw the hole in the wall.

“He noticed that the office door had been broken into. He came back and saw the hole they had made, called my boss and called the police,” explained the bakery manager.
