This Monday (29), the Federal Audit Court (TCU) published an ordinance that grants 90 days for Via Bahia to present the report with the request for a consensual solution for the contracts for the two federal highways managed by the company in the state of Bahia. : BR-324 and BR-116.

“The Consensual Solution Committee is hereby established to, within ninety days of the publication of this Ordinance, present a report on the resolution of the dispute dealt with within the scope of process TC 039.106/2023-3”, highlights the publication.

The proposal sent by the concessionaire to the TCU will be the topic of the third public hearing called by federal deputy Jorge Solla (PT-BA) to press for the start of the duplication of BR-116, in the section that cuts through Vitória da Conquista, and the requalification of BR- 324, which connects Salvador to Feira de Santana.

“Almost 15 years have passed since the signing of the contract, without the main needs being met. We provoked debate, the Lula government has already moved to find a way out and Via Bahia is willing to fulfill the contract”, says Solla .

The hearing is scheduled for 9 am on May 7th, in the Chamber of Deputies. Solla is expected to publicize the project presented by the president of Via Bahia, José Bartolomeu, last year.

The forecast is an investment of R$ 11.8 billion to duplicate 432 km of the 680 km of highways managed by the concessionaire. If started in 2024, the work will follow a pace of 100 km in the first three years and then 44 km per year until 2034, the concession deadline.
