Joint action

Representing the Board of Directors of the Rio Grande do Sul Parliament, the President of the House, Adolfo Brito (PP), sent a letter this Tuesday to Governor Eduardo Leite, informing the creation of a Working Group of parliamentarians that will work with the Civil Defense of RS. The mobilization comes amid the effects of heavy rains that continue to hit the state and should help in dialogue between Powers to collect information and search for solutions to mitigate the problems faced. “We are sensitive to the situation that has developed since Monday. We have highways blocked, bridges washed away, municipalities affected once again by floods and landslides, people suffering. But we have faith and hope that we will overcome this moment”, says Brito.

Session postponed

The leaders of the Rio Grande do Sul Assembly unanimously decided to suspend the plenary session scheduled for this Tuesday due to the calamity situation in several municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul due to the rains. The cancellation was proposed by the president of the House, deputy Adolfo Brito (PP), and accepted by the Board of Directors. In view of the decision, the proposals that would be considered at the meeting in question will return to the plenary agenda on May 7th.

Budget priorities

Deputy Matheus Gomes (PSOL) criticized on social media the treatment given by Governor Eduardo Leite to the impacts of the climate events that have been affecting RS. The parliamentarian highlighted in a publication on the Civil Defense skin to record videos”, mocked Matheus.

Project withdrawn

The leader of the Rio Grande do Sul Executive in the Assembly, deputy Frederico Antunes (PP), informed the Legislative House this Tuesday of the Leite government’s decision to withdraw the bill that deals, among other measures, with increasing the ICMS rate to 17% to 19%. The determination, aligned the day before with the government base, comes amid the lack of political environment in Parliament to advance the proposal. In return for the movement, decrees that cut tax incentives and impact the basic food basket will come into effect from this Wednesday, with the aim of restoring financial revenue.

The Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Committee of the Assembly approved this Tuesday, conclusively, the bill that includes Mateada de Portão in the official calendar of RS events. Authored by deputy Airton Lima (Podemos), the proposal aims to recognize the event as the largest of its kind in RS, which brings together around four thousand people to carry out the cultural movement. The collegiate also approved, on the proposal of deputy Neri, the Postman (PSDB), the inclusion of the “Gypsy ethnicity day” in the list, to be celebrated on the 24th and the state week of the same ethnicity, to be established in the third week of the month of May.
