The Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime of Roraima (Ficco-RR) arrested, this Monday (29), six people suspected of being part of a criminal organization that operates inside and outside the Monte Cristo Agricultural Penitentiary (Pamc), the largest state prison.
The action is part of Operation Elo, which aims to dismantle the Roraima leadership of the criminal faction. The targets of the operation were two people, who acted as visitors to the prison and passed on messages to the inmates. They were arrested red-handed for the crimes of criminal organization and drug trafficking.
The agents also served four preventive arrest warrants and three search and seizure warrants at addresses in the capital and within Pamc itself. Cell phones and notes were seized.
Among those being investigated are at least three top members of the criminal faction, accused of crimes of qualified homicide, robbery, reception, participation in a criminal organization, drug trafficking, illegal possession of a firearm, domestic violence, bodily harm and resistance.
Relatives of inmates are also targets of the operation, who allegedly linked themselves to the criminal faction to act as messengers between the arrested faction and the free leadership.
The investigations found that their objective was to send and receive messages on various topics, including planning homicides against other inmates in the Roraima prison system.
Ficco-RR is made up of the Federal, Military, Civil, Penal and Federal Highway Police and the Public Security, Justice and Citizenship Secretariats.
