The State Public Passenger Transport Company of the State of Espírito Santo (Ceturb/ES) launched, this Monday (29), the new institutional campaign, with the slogan “Be Educated. Thank you very much”. The ceremony was held at Palácio Anchieta, in Vitória, with the presence of governor Renato Casagrande. The action involves different communication formats, with a focus on guaranteeing the rights of people with visible and non-visible disabilities.

“This campaign goes inside companies so that we can all have empathy with people with disabilities, whether visible or not. In the Government, we have adopted several initiatives within our inclusion policy for people with disabilities. We renewed the entire Mão na Roda fleet and are starting the State Plan to check what already exists and where we can improve. We are committed to accessibility and we know that we need to improve all the time”, stated Casagrande.

The campaign marks a new moment of understanding about the most diverse existing disabilities, in addition to a new positioning of the Company in relation to the topic, with greater emphasis on the rights of people with disabilities (PWDs) in public transport and improving the service offered to them .

The CEO of Ceturb/ES, Marcos Bruno Bastos, highlighted that the objective of the campaign is to bring about change. “This campaign was designed to bother us, make us think more about the subject, awaken our empathy and kindness”, he observed, considering that Espírito Santo has the second highest proportion of people with disabilities among the states in the Southeast region.

The position adopted by the Company also took into account the complaints registered by people with disabilities in the Ceturb/ES service channels, especially cases that are aggravated in the context of non-visible disabilities. The launch takes place during “April Azul”, a month of awareness about the inclusion of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which arose from the choice by the United Nations (UN), in 2008, on April 2 as “World Autism Awareness Day”.

“The campaign is very assertive in terms of drawing society’s attention to respecting people’s rights and encouraging empathy and collaboration in society in all spaces”, emphasized the Secretary of State for Human Rights, Nara Borgo, also present at the launch. Also present were the Secretaries of State, Fábio Damasceno (Mobility and Infrastructure), Vitor de Angelo (Education) and Jacqueline Moraes (Women); and the president of the State Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Marcos Antônio do Espírito Santo.
