An initiative of the Government of Goiás, through Goiás Social, the Mães de Goiás program guarantees an extra income of R$250 to families with children aged 0 to 6 and a per capita income of up to R$109. To receive the benefit, the mother must have the program card, which is delivered to the municipality where they live, on a date and place communicated by phone call and SMS.

According to the State Secretariat for Social Development (Seds), which operates the program, Mães de Goiás surpassed the mark of 155 thousand beneficiaries in the 246 municipalities of Goiás. The body’s owner, Wellington Matos, reinforces that the card is delivered directly to the beneficiary, and the recipient receives notification of the day, time and place of collection via telephone call and SMS.
“The number used to make contact is the one provided in your CadÚnico. That is why it is essential to keep the data always updated in Cras”, he warns.
Matos explains that, when the mother, for some reason, does not collect the card at the delivery event in the municipality, the item returns to the department’s headquarters, in Goiânia, where it becomes available from the 10th of the following month.
To make the withdrawal, she must look for the location and present an identification document with a photo. A third person can collect the card on behalf of the holder, as long as they present a power of attorney with a notarized signature and copies of the beneficiary’s personal documents.
“It is in the interest of the Government of Goiás that all mothers benefit from the resources provided by the program”, adds Secretary Wellington Matos. He remembers that participation in Mães de Goiás does not prevent the family from receiving other social benefits.
