Sebrae Roraima, in partnership with the Government of Roraima, kicked off this Friday, the 26th, the “International Tourism Exhibition – Roraima 2024”. The opening of the works took place at Roraima Garden Shopping, and the exhibition continues until April 28th. The intention is to strengthen local commerce by presenting tourism potential for the entire country and the world. The event brings together more than 70 exhibitors of products and services from Roraima, other locations in Brazil and internationally.
According to the superintendent director of Sebrae in Roraima, Emerson Baú, the event will be an opportunity to strengthen small businesses and professionals in the tourism and related sectors.
“The expectation is to strengthen tourism, which is a sector of the economy that directly impacts several small businesses and professionals. From the plumber and electrician, who performs maintenance in hotel rooms and restaurants, to direct enterprises, inns, restaurants, agencies, which 95% are small and are served by Sebrae and now we are presenting these companies to the market more structured way”
The director of the Caroebe tourism department, Jessica Kellen, points to the fair as an opportunity to showcase the city’s attractions that go beyond the waterfalls.
“The fair is very positive. We come to the event to strengthen the presence of the municipality of Caroebe on the Roraima tourism route. Our municipality is already known for its natural beauty and waterfalls. What we want to show is that we are more than that. Last year we had the sport fishing championship, which proved to be a program that can be added to what we can offer. We had visitors from other states in Caroebe just for this event and this shows that this can be another tourism possibility”
Also present at the event, the ambassador of Barbados to Brazil, Linda Thompson, sees the relationship between the two countries as an opportunity to strengthen tourism in the Caribbean region, which is geographically and culturally close to Roraima, according to her.
“As an ambassador, I am happy every time we can deepen this relationship, but specifically in tourism, Barbados has a very strong product and we want to promote any action to help our common region, which is the Caribbean and the north of Brazil to to grow. I also hope that awareness of what we have in common and how much we can help each other can grow.”
Participation in the event is free and takes place from 5pm to 10pm.
