It is #FAKE that a video of a naked woman at an airport is a protest in Brazil and is related to the price of airline tickets | Fact or Fake

A video is circulating on social media showing a naked woman in an airport lounge being approached by security guards. A caption states that she is protesting at Guarulhos Airport, in the state of São Paulo. IS FAKE.

The fake caption reads: “Radical leftist feminist with hairy armpits protesting at Guarulhos airport because the ticket is too expensive”, says an excerpt from the message, which criticizes President Lula.

In fact, the video was not recorded at Guarulhos airport, but at Sangster International Airport, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in January 2024. Newspapers in the country reported the episode. See here, here and here.

There is no relationship with Brazil either. Reports indicate that the woman undressed during an outbreak, after clashing with another woman and airport guards.

She was later taken to a hospital. Before a court, she pleaded guilty to charges of resisting arrest, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

For these crimes, she was sentenced to pay a fine of US$52,000 or spend 30 days in prison.
