Another bridge was opened on a local road in West of Bahia. The construction was supported by the state government through financing from the Agricultural Development Program (Prodeagro)in collaboration with rural producers associated with the Association of Farmers and Irrigators of Bahia (Aiba).
The completed work is located on the Rio das Fêmeas, in the town of Perdizes, in the municipality of São Desidério.
Measuring 25 meters long and 10 meters wide, the reinforced concrete structure includes steel beams and concrete for the deck, which will provide greater safety for pedestrians and assist in the flow of production from this agricultural hub in the region.
According to Aiba, the bridge is an achievement that represents an important milestone for the local community and will facilitate access to the region’s productive areas.
“The old bridge had a structure that no longer met the production demands of this important agricultural region, where tons of fiber and grains flow. And thanks to Prodeagro resources, it was possible to build this new bridge that will serve the flow of vehicles and pedestrians more safely”, highlighted the president of Aiba, Odacil Ranzi.
Investments in roads
In the last three years, Prodeagro resources were invested in the renovation and construction of bridges over the Preto and Sapão rivers to connect the agricultural communities of Coaceral and Garganta to the Anel da Soja highway, in Formosa do Rio Preto; over the Riachinho River in Cocos;
In addition, resources were also used on the Rio de Pedras bridges in Barreiras; on the Galheirão River, which connects the Linha dos Pivôs to the BA-463 highway in São Desiderio; over the Pratudinho and Pratudão rivers in Jaborandi.
Another bridge was built over Rio de Janeiro, one of the tributaries of the Rio Grande, which connects Luís Eduardo Magalhães to the community of Novo Horizonte.
According to Aiba, this year, the wooden bridge over the Formoso River, between Cocos and Jaborandi, was completely renovated, and a bridge over the Rio Grande was built in the town of Gado Bravo in São Desidério.
“A contract is currently being finalized for the construction of two more planned bridges, one over the Guará River and the other over the Pratinha River, both in São Desidério”, concludes Aiba Infrastructure Manager, Luiz Stahlke.
