A Military Police soldier was arrested suspected of unearthing weapons and drugs in a farm in the rural region of Bairro Pedra 90, in Cuiabá, this Thursday (25), at the request of a criminal organization. According to the Military Police, the place belongs to a member of the faction.
In a statement, the Military Police reported that the General Inspector’s Office initiated an administrative procedure and reinforced that it “does not agree with any type of misconduct or illicit activity carried out by members of the institution.”
According to the police report, the agents were patrolling in the Cinturão Verde region, when they saw three people in a suspicious pickup truck. When attempting to approach, the vehicle left at high speed on a dirt road. A police chase began, but due to the dust, officers lost sight of the truck.
On another road, close to the location, the vehicle was seen by other police officers who managed to approach it and found that there were three men inside the truck, one of whom was a Military Police soldier and a child.
During the inspection, nothing illegal was found. The soldier told the police that he was at a farm he knew. After questioning, the suspects were released.
Reporting and locating weapons
Seconds later, a motorcyclist passed by the police and reported that the The approached truck had thrown weapons out the window of the vehicle, indicating the exact locations of disposal to agents. The woman informed the police that the soldier and another occupant of the truck worked for her husband and that they were called to dig up weapons and drugs that were on the ground and subsequently tested them on site.
A 12-gauge cartridge was found at the farm. The agents requested support from the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), which, together with sniffer dogs, went to the scene and found the drugs that had been unearthed, according to the landowner, by the two suspects, including the police officer.
After the evidence, the police arrested the two suspects and took them to the Flagrant Center. The Civil Police investigates the case.
