Paulo Dantas presents the strength of business in Alagoas to the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Brazil

The potential of the State of Alagoas for attracting investments was shown by governor Paulo Dantas to representatives of companies with Spanish capital at a breakfast at the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, in São Paulo, this Thursday (25).

The Chamber is a business association that has been operating for 69 years and works to create business opportunities in Brazil and Spain, and has among its members some of the most influential companies in the world of business, commerce and investment. This is the case of Banco Santander, Telefônica, Mapfre, Neoenergia, Naturgy, among others.

At the meeting, Governor Dantas showed Alagoas’ good macroeconomic numbers, the result of a government committed to responsible management practices, which makes the State attractive for private investment. “We have efficient fiscal management, which allows us to invest in infrastructure, in addition to adopting public policies that provide an environment of legal security for private agents,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that, in 2023, Alagoas had the highest growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) among the Northeast States with an increase of close to 7%. Furthermore, among the 27 Federation Units, it is the one with the best relationship between investment made and net current revenue, with an index of 18.50%, according to the State Competitiveness Ranking (produced by the Public Leadership Center , the CLP).

Sectors such as energy, mainly with the supply of natural gas, tourism and industry were highlighted by Paulo Dantas as well structured to receive investments in the State. The governor highlighted the incentives of the Integrated Development Program of the State of Alagoas (Prodesin), and highlighted infrastructure projects, such as the construction of Maragogi airport, the renovation of regional airports (such as Arapiraca) and the Canal do Sertão branch. , and the pioneering natural gas storage project in Brazil.

The State Finance Secretary, Renata dos Santos, and the Federative and International Relations Secretary, Hugo Leahy, accompanied the governor.

Renata dos Santos recalled that the State has invested in education and technological development, which contributes to attracting investment, based on a supply of more qualified labor and the dissemination of a culture of innovation. “We invested in making Alagoas a technology hub and we are already reaping the rewards. Many startups from Alagoas stand out in their areas of activity.”

In the end, the president of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, Marcos Madureira, said he was impressed with the governor’s explanation. “It was clear that with competent managers, public affairs can be transformed.”
