Mark Zuckerberg is on the cover of the new edition of Forbes Brasil
A edition 118 of Forbes Brazilwhich brings the Forbes World Billionaires List 2024is now available on the Forbes app.
In 2023, while central banks in the US and the Euro Zone raised their interest rates – a measure whose objective is to slow down economic activity in order to contain inflation –, paradoxically, the number of people with assets worth over a billion dollars grew. around the world, including in countries that have adopted such measures. The winds of prosperity have produced a record number of names on the Forbes World Billionaires 2024 List. Today there are 2,781, 141 more than on the previous list. There are now 69 Brazilians in this very select club, compared to 51 last year. In this edition, we present them all, in addition to the top 500 on the global list. A considerable portion is made up of self-made entrepreneurs, who built small, medium and large empires with their talent and dedication. Also noteworthy is the growing presence of celebrities from sports, music, cinema and television with assets in the 10-digit range.
Speaking of sport, the bet that Inter Miami made by taking Argentine Lionel Messi to its football team is noteworthy. Previously unimpressive on the pitch and in finances, the club is now at the top of the table and has just become the second most valuable franchise in the North American league: US$1 billion, compared to US$1.2 billion for Los Angeles FC.
In the special report on the tourism market, which continues to rise since the end of the pandemic lockdown, our reporters show the boom in the private model, with its exclusive experience offers, and the resumption of Latin America as a luxury destination – Brazil , for example, is receiving more and more foreign visitors.
Visiting the Watches and Wonders fair in Geneva, editor Décio Galina selected 13 beautiful models from the most iconic brands in haute horlogerie. From Jackson Hole, Wyoming, he brings his impressions of the mix between the exuberant wildlife of the American West and the practice of winter sports, such as skiing.
The world of fashion is also very well represented – not only through the delightful interview with designer Reinaldo Lourenço, who celebrates 40 years of activity, but also through the always incredible column by Donata Meirelles, which opens the ForbesLife section.
