Six people from the same family were arrested for manufacturing, negotiating and distributing homemade firearms in Greater Vitória during the ‘Legado Armeria’ operation, carried out by the Civil Police of the State of Espírito Santo (PCES), through the Specialized Weapons Police Station, Ammunition and Explosives (Disarming).

On Tuesday (25), the second phase of the operation ended with the arrest of five people: Edilson Manske, the father, one of his sons, Tiago Manske; Edilson’s daughter-in-law, Ariane Vingler, Bruno Vingler de Sena aka “Jhon Caseiras”, Ariane’s brother, and his wife, Hellen Luise Santos Silva.

Edilson’s other son, Wilrison Manske, was arrested in December, in the first phase of the operation, which dismantled the family’s clandestine weapons factory in Cariacica. He is Ariane’s husband.

It is estimated that those investigated have produced and sold approximately 200 firearms. They were made to order and personalized according to the buyer’s request, and sold for approximately R$2,500. The police believe that the group had a turnover of half a million reais in 2023.

Each family member had a responsibility in the criminal organization: Edilson and Wilrison manufactured the weapons; Bruno, known to buyers as “Jhon Caseiras”, carried out negotiations through messaging applications; Tiago and Helen made the deliveries; and Ariane was responsible for finance.

According to the police, the fact that the group was a family made the investigation difficult. Most of them, except Bruno, had no criminal record and, to disguise their criminal activity, used other children to make deliveries, even using a child’s purse for the action.

Now detained preventively, those investigated may be held liable for the following crimes:

Wilrison Manske – illegal possession of a firearm, illegal firearms trade and criminal association

Edilson Manske – illegal possession of a firearm, illegal firearms trade and criminal association

Bruno Vingler de Sena aka “Jhon Caseiras” – illegal firearms trade, reception and criminal association

Tiago Manske – illegal firearms trade and criminal association

Hellen Luise Santos Silva – illegal firearms trade, reception and criminal association

Ariane Vingler Gonçalves – illegal firearms trade and criminal association

Wilrison’s arrest in December also resulted in the “ARMAS.COM” operation, which identified and removed more than a thousand videos with tutorials on how to make homemade firearms, which totaled 110 million views.
