The governor of Tocantins, Wanderlei Barbosa, met on the afternoon of this Thursday, 25th, at the Transport, Works and Infrastructure Agency (Ageto), with the president of the body, Márcio Pinheiro, in addition to the other managers of the Agency, to deal with the investments that will be carried out by the Government of Tocantins on state highways during 2024. The Chief of the State Executive highlighted that there is a cash budget to carry out these works, be it asphalt recovery or new paving.

“The resources are already available to carry out this work in all regions of the State, in the southern region, in the Southeast region, in Bico do Papagaio, in the Jalapão region, in Vale do Araguaia and in Transcolinas. We will carry out infrastructure works, asphalt restoration and also new asphalt. This is not just our expectation, it is our planning for 2024 with the aim of improving the lives of people from Tocantins”, highlighted Governor Wanderlei Barbosa at the meeting.

The president of Ageto, Márcio Pinheiro, mentioned that governor Wanderlei Barbosa requested agility in the execution of works and emphasized the importance of the participatory nature of the current government. “We are very happy to receive the Governor’s visit. He made a point of checking the progress of the projects, inviting the entire team to stay informed about the progress of new works and the importance of moving forward with them quickly. It is the Government’s priority to keep the highways in good condition for the use of the entire population of Tocantins”, declared Márcio Pinheiro

Paving Plan

Since 2022, the administration of governor Wanderlei Barbosa has been carrying out works on roads in Tocantins through the Highway Paving, Recovery and Conservation Plan. At the beginning of the project, 30 sections of state highways were announced and were to be built or restored simultaneously, covering all regions of the State, from north to south.
