Next Friday, (26), the long-awaited Caravan Bahia Sem Fogo will arrive in Ibicoara, to conclude the first stage of the project that covered Chapada Diamantina. An unprecedented initiative by the State Government, the caravan will involve the local community, with programming throughout the day, with activities aimed at education, environmental sustainability and preventing the impacts caused by forest fires.
On this occasion, the Secretariat for the Environment (Sema) and the institutions that make up the Caravan will present the results achieved, in addition to the delivery of individual and collective protective equipment to the volunteer brigades.
“We invite the entire community and local public managers to actively participate in this moment. Ibicoara marks the end of this first cycle of the caravan that left, wherever it went, a legacy of environmental education, practices and care for the environment”, highlighted the general director of Sema and coordinator of the Bahia Sem Fogo Program, Daniella Fernandes.
The project, which began on April 11, in Andaraí, will end this first stage having covered a total of 11 municipalities, presenting a series of socio-educational actions aimed at local communities, students, volunteer brigade members and other interested parties.

It is coordinated by Sema in partnership with the Institute of the Environment and Water Resources (Inema), the Public Security (SSP) and Health (Sesab) secretariats, the Bahia Military Fire Department (CBMBA), the Civil House, Superintendency of Civil Protection and Defense (Sudec) and the Environmental Protection Police Company (Coppa).
