The Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM) requested the young man’s conviction in September 2023. In the document sent to the Court, prosecutor Maria Eunice Bittencourt indicated that the boy should answer for the crime of culpable homicide, when there is no intention to kill. She also asked him to answer for an aggravating factor, failure to provide assistance.

The Court of Justice of Amazonas (TJAM) confirmed that the Specialized Traffic Crimes Court of the District of Manaus accepted the complaint from the Public Ministry. “With the complaint accepted by the Court, the defendant will be summoned to present a written response”, stated the agency, in a note sent to Rede Amazônica.

Andréia Trindade, aged 46, died in December 2022, after the pickup truck driven by the young man invaded a bus stop, on Avenida Coronel Teixeira, near the Santo Agostinho neighborhood, West Zone of Manaus. The victim would take a bus to go to work.

The accident occurred towards Ponta Negra/São Jorge, Santo Agostinho. According to witnesses, the victim was thrown against a pole after being hit by the vehicle.

At the time of the accident, the woman was accompanied by her husband. The two had parked a motorcycle on the other side of the avenue and crossed the road, so that she could wait for public transport at the stop. From the bus stop, the victim would go to work.
