The Government of Roraima, through Setrabes (Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare), in partnership with the state sports federations, held the opening of the State Sports Training Week on Wednesday, the 24th.

The State Sports Training Week, which will be held until April 28th, stands out as a unique moment for improving the skills and competencies of professionals involved in the sports world, thus strengthening the technical and scientific base that supports the growth of sport in the world. State.

The action is part of the More Sport and More Citizenship Program, which is carried out by the Coordination of Public Policies for Sport at Setrabes. The event aims to develop and ensure continuity in the training process of professionals in the field of sport, including among state actions training for technical improvement.

In this first stage, training and refresher courses in refereeing will be offered in basketball, boxing, futsal, rhythmic gymnastics, handball, jiu-jitsu, karate, Olympic weightlifting, table tennis, volleyball, chess, wrestling. and powerlifting (weight lifting).

The secretary of Setrabes, Tânia Soares, highlighted that it is another event with great repercussion and impact on sport in the State.

“Roraima is a very talented State in several sports, and our first State Sports Training Week aims to add, strengthen and share knowledge in different sports. We are grateful for the partnership of the federations, the presence of the international referees who came exclusively to participate in the event where they will teach the refereeing courses and the participation of our athletes”, he stated.

According to the IHF (International Handball Federation) international handball referee, Daniel Magalhães, the event is an initial step that the State is offering to professionalize the athlete in the refereeing segment.

“During the five days of training, we will develop and qualify new referees, in addition to planning their career in this long work that lies ahead with professional arbitration”, he said.

The general director of the CBG (Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation), Ricardo Resende, said that the action aims to guarantee the training process of professionals in the field of sport.

“I am very happy to be participating in the State Sports Training Week here in the state of Roraima, where rhythmic gymnastics is being included. New referees from Boa Vista will be trained, I have no doubt that these actions reinforce the power of sport, congratulations to the state government for the great initiative”, he concluded.
