The Amazonas Consumer Protection Institute (Procon-AM) issued a notification to Amazonas due to the amounts charged for the game against Flamengo on May 22nd, for the second leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, at the Arena da Amazônia. According to the agency, the values are considered abusive.
In addition to Procon, the Consumer Protection Commission (CDC) of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam) also notified the club.
In the notification, Amazonas was asked for clarifications on the pricing policy adopted for the game in question, as well as detailed information on the delivery of tickets, especially in relation to the right to free admission for people with disabilities (PwD), half price and others. benefits provided by law.
It was also requested to clarify the ticket collection location, ensuring full accessibility according to the law, indicating the number of seats reserved for the PwD category and their respective companions and compliance with state legislation that guarantees access to drinks and food.
According to the president of Aleam’s CDC, deputy Mário César Filho, the initiative came in response to multiple complaints received by the organization that pointed to a significant increase in ticket prices compared to other games, such as the confrontation between Amazonas x Santos, which will take place soon in Series B of the Brazilian Championship, on the 11th, which has R$220 as the highest value.
The Amazonian club announced the opening of online sales through social media this Tuesday (22/4). Prices range from R$150 (half) to R$1,500.00 (full), depending on the desired sector, with an additional fee.
Deputy Mário César Filho emphasized the need for ticket prices to comply with legislation, ensuring equitable access to sporting events for all citizens.
“It is unacceptable that fans are exploited with exorbitant prices that violate the principles of democratic access to sport. We cannot tolerate the practice of abuses that harm consumers and disregard current legislation. We are vigilant and will ensure that citizens’ rights are strictly protected,” she emphasized.
Value similar to Rio duel
On January 17th of this year, the Arena da Amazônia hosted the duel between Flamengo and Audax, for the Campeonato Carioca. For the game, tickets had prices similar to those now charged by Amazonas. Prices ranged from R$150 to R$600, in addition to boxes for 20 people costing R$5,000.
