The weather dawned unstable this Thursday (25) in Santa Catarina. Over the next five days, however, rain should give way to sun in some regions of the state.

Humidity coming from the ocean causes cloudiness in the center-east of the state. Added to the heat, it will lead to rain showers with thunderstorms in all regions between the afternoon and evening of this Thursday.

Despite this, the Civil Defense of Santa Catarina guarantees that the weather indicates a low risk for meteorological events.

At dawn, temperatures fluctuate between 11 °C and 15 °C in the southern Plateau and between 16 °C and 19 °C in other regions.

During the afternoon, maximum temperatures can vary from 20 °C to 24 °C from the Plateaus to the Coast and should register between 25 °C and 29 °C in the Great West.

The sea is expected to be rough in Greater Florianópolis and on the South Coast due to the wind from the southern quadrant close to the coast. The height of the waves can vary between 2 and 2.5 meters.

What’s the weather like on Friday?

The unstable weather moves back to Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay on Friday (26), where a new cold front begins to form.

The plateaus should register between 12 °C and 15 °C at dawn, while the other regions promise between 16 °C and 19 °C.

However, isolated storms may hit the south of the state due to the proximity of instability. The risk is still low for weather-related events, according to Civil Defense.

The wind should continue to blow from the north and with weak intensity. Minimum temperatures promise to remain around 20 °C in the Far West and coast. The rest of the State should stay between 15 °C and 18 °C.

The lack of cloud cover and the winds coming from the north of the country raise temperatures considerably in the afternoon.

The South Coast expects maximums of 35 °C, the North Coast and Baixo Vale do Itajaí may register 34 °C and the Far West 33 °C. In other regions, they vary between 27 °C and 31 °C.

Trend for the next few days

The Civil Defense weather forecast indicates that, between Sunday (28) and Monday (29), instability will slowly advance from Rio Grande do Sul to the border areas.

The tendency is for them to be parked between the Plateau and the South Coast, which should expect rain and storms during this period.
