Suspect of stabbing app driver 20 times during robbery is arrested in Bahia; victim faked death to survive | Bahia

The 46-year-old victim pretended to be dead to survive. She was discharged from hospital on Monday (22).

According to information from the Civil Police, the man was detained in the Imbuí neighborhood, in Salvador. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and attributed the reason to a moment of rage during a disagreement with the victim. A replica pistol was seized from him.

The motivation for the crime is still being investigated by the 26th Territorial Police Station of Vila de Abrantes. The suspect underwent physical injuries examinations and remains in custody.

“He showed the gun, kidnapped me to the Derba bypass and, when I got there, he told me to get out of the car. I asked him all the time to leave me, but he told me to kneel and stabbed me several times,” said the driver via app , who preferred not to reveal his identity.

According to the victim, the man stopped stabbing her after she vomited blood.

“He is known in the city of Camaçari and needs to pay for what he did. He only left me because I pretended to be dead,” he said.

The crime happened after the driver, whose name was not disclosed, picked up the suspect, who pretended to be a passenger, in the Doron region, in Salvador. She was supposed to leave it at Inocoop, in Camaçari, but when passing through Estrada da Cascalheiras, about 30 minutes from her final destination, the driver was threatened by the man.

After announcing the robbery, he took the victim to a deserted area, stabbed her and fled with the woman’s car and other belongings.

The Civil Police reported that the driver was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) to a hospital in Camaçari. However, it was not detailed who called for help.

The victim’s vehicle and the knife used in the crime were found on Tuesday by the Military Police. They were found on Rua Itacimirim, in the Inocoop neighborhood, which is 20.6 km from Estrada da Cascalheiras, where the crime was recorded.

The case is being investigated as an attempted robbery.
