Symposium on Sports Justice in MS brings together athletes and authorities to debate the future of sport

The Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJMS) will host on the 2nd and 3rd of May, the ‘Brazilian Sports Justice Symposium – Perspectives and Practices’. The event is open to the public, including athletes, team managers, businesspeople, journalists, students, judges and lawyers, and registration is open.

Organized by the Judiciary of MS, in collaboration with the Superior Court of Sports Justice for Football (STJD), the State Government through the State Secretariat of Tourism, Sports and Culture (SETESC) and the Sports and Leisure Foundation of Mato Grosso do Sul (Fundesporte), the symposium aims to promote regional sport in its various forms, in addition to highlighting the crucial role of sports justice.

The president of the Court of Justice, judge Sérgio Fernandes Martins, states that the symposium aims to encourage state sport, in its various modalities, as well as the preponderant role of sports justice, clarifying its functioning and promoting the exchange of experience between courts, in addition to encouraging discussions that contribute to the development of initiatives for the population of Mato Grosso do Sul, taking into account the importance of sports for social well-being.

According to the schedule, on May 2nd at 8am, an itinerant trial session of the STJD Plenary will take place, at the TJMS Plenary, located on Av. Mato Grosso, Block 13, in Parque dos Poderes.

On May 3, the panel “Exploring the Challenges and Opportunities for Sports Development” will take place at the Aracy Balabanian Theater, Centro Cultural José Octávio Guizzo, at Rua 26 de Agosto, 453, in Campo Grande. On the same day, a round table will be held with the presence of the president of the Court, advisors from the STJD, Olympic para-athletes Fernando Rufino and Yeltsin Jacques, and members of the local sports scene.
