The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) and the Ministry of Ports and Airports reported this Wednesday (24) that an administrative process was initiated to investigate the death of a dog of the breed Golden retriever during Gol flight G3 1527. 
In a joint note, the agency and the ministry informed that they have already asked Gol for “details on the conditions for transporting the animal, its sending to a location other than the contracted one and the conditions for providing this type of service”.
The dog Joca, aged 5, died after being taken to the city of Sinop, in Mato Grosso, from Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, on the 22nd of this month.
However, the company put the animal on another flight, bound for Fortaleza. Upon realizing the error, the company sent the dog back to Guarulhos. The entire procedure took around 8 hours, much longer than the two and a half hours initially planned. Joca was found dead upon arriving in Guarulhos.

In a statement, the airline regretted what happened. “The company is offering all the necessary support to the tutor and his family from the outset. The investigation of the details of what happened is being carried out with total priority by our team”, he informed.
The company added that it had suspended for 30 days, starting this Wednesday (24), the sale of the dog and cat transportation service by Gollog Animais and the Dog&Cat + Espaço product, for travel in the hold of aircraft.
“For customers who have contracted the transport of their pet between April 24th and May 23rd, 2024 through the services that are restricted, you can choose to have a full refund, including the value of your ticket (in the case of Dog&Cat + Espaço), or to postpone the trip, free of charge. , for after May 23 on flights until December 31, 2024”, informed the company.
“The Dog&Cat Cabin service, for customers who take their pets in the plane cabin, will not undergo any changes,” he added.
