Municipality hosts Mato Grosso Futsal Cup for youth categories

Last weekend, from March 28th to 31st, Cáceres hosted another important grassroots competition at state level: the Mato Grosso Futsal Cup, in the under-09, under-11 and under-15 categories, promoted by the Mato Grosso Federation. -grossense of Futsal. The under-15 category was the only one that had both male and female athletes, while the under-11 and under-09 categories only had boys competing in the games.

The mayor of Cáceres, Eliene Liberato Dias, recognized the importance of supporting competitions that encourage children and teenagers to develop a taste for sport and healthy habits. Eliene congratulated all the delegations for coming to Cáceres and wished them success in the matches.

The Secretary of Sports, Cristiano Neves, highlighted the level of competition and the return that this type of event brings to the municipality. “In addition to encouraging and promoting grassroots sports, athletes stay while their parents stay in hotels, in addition to consuming in snack bars and restaurants. This boosts event tourism and strengthens local commerce”, highlighted Cristiano.

Cuiabá’s coach, Marcus Penna, praised the receptivity and organization that Cáceres provided for the Mato Grosso Cup. “Cáceres is to be congratulated in all aspects; it was one of the best organized competitions in which I participated”, reported Penna.

In addition to Cáceres, teams from Cuiabá, Várzea Grande, Pedra Preta, Nobres, Sapezal, Ipiranga do Norte, Planalto da Serra, Sorriso, Figueirópolis D’Oeste, Lucas do Rio Verde and Alta Floresta were present.

Cáceres did not achieve any podium and had the following performance: 6th place in the Female Under-15 with CIE; in the men’s category, she came in 6th place with the Yacht Club and 9th with the CIE. In the male U11, Cáceres came in 4th place with the Yacht Club and 5th with the CIE. In Under-9, Cáceres came in 5th place with the Yacht Club and 6th with the CIE.
