247 – District deputy Chico Vigilante (PT-DF) expressed his concern and indignation at the recent statements by former president Jair Bolsonaro, who threatened to react with extreme violence if he was detained, reiterating his willingness to “shoot to kill” law enforcement agents.

“Very serious threat! Already foreseeing a possible arrest, Bolsonaro states that he will ‘shoot to kill’ law enforcement officers. The attitude of a bandit, of someone who has no honor and should never have occupied the post of president of our country. It is Bolsonarism in its essence essence, never to return”, declared Chico Vigilante.

Bolsonaro’s statements are nothing new, as the former president had previously made similar threats. In a conversation at Palácio da Alvorada on the first weekend of August, Bolsonaro reportedly told a Supreme Court minister: “I shoot to kill, but no one takes me to prison. I’d rather die”.

According to information from journalist Guilherme Amado in his column in Metrópoles, the gesture is repeated with more intensity now. “Now, Bolsonaro is back to talking about ‘shooting to kill'”, in a recent conversation with a deputy from his party.
