Is it little recognized by the press?

After eight years, the Santos returned to a Campeonato Paulista final and beat Palmeiras 1-0, in Vila Belmiro, on Sunday (31), in the first game of the decision. Alvinegro can be champion with a draw in the return duel, at Allianz Parque.

Clube da Vila Belmiro has reformulated its squad for this season and coach Fábio Carille was chosen to lead the team. The good campaign of the Santos team in Paulistão earned praise for coach, who has an advantage in clashes against Palmeiras in his career.

On ESPN’s Resenha da Rodada program, the former Lugano player praised the Peixe coach and sees the professional as one of the most ‘undervalued in Brazilian football’: “Carille has always done good work, updated, balanced”, highlighted the São Paulo idol.

The 50-year-old coach came to Corinthians and is in his second spell at Alvinegro Praiano. The professional also worked in Saudi football and, before returning to Peixe, he was on V-Varen Nagasaki, in Japan.

In search of the fourth São Paulo championship

Fábio Carille won a third state championship with Corinthians (2017, 2018 and 2019) and is now looking for his first title with Santos. Lugano believes he is the best coach in this edition of the Campeonato Paulista.

“Maybe he’s not one of the most friendly to the press, he doesn’t sell himself that well, but for me he’s already the best coach in Paulistão. It doesn’t get the recognition it deserves in Brazil”, concluded the commentator during an ESPN program, last Monday (1).

Good news for the Santos coach with an eye on the second leg against Palmeiras is Julio Furch. The Argentine striker left Sunday’s classic (31) in pain, but there are good chances to be ready for the duel at Allianz Parque.
