The governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), will have an extensive public agenda this Tuesday (2). After fulfilling commitments at the Governor’s Office, in the morning, the Chief Executive will participate in three events in the Capital.

At 2pm, at Bioparque Pantanal, Riedel participates in the launch of the “Accessible MS: Promoting Citizenship for People with Hidden or Invisible Conditions” program, which will encourage acceptance and understanding of the use of sunflower cords.

The State took the lead by instituting the use of the cordon by State Law 5,969/2022, while the federal law on the same topic was published last year. Using the sunflower lanyard identifies people with hidden or hidden conditions, and sends a message of empathy to everyone around them.

The project is another stage of the ‘MS Accessible’ program, promoted by the Subsecretariat of Public Policies for People with Disabilities, a department linked to Citizenship.

At 4pm, the governor signs the Technical Cooperation Agreement with the TJMS (Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul). The measure aims to optimize public policy actions in favor of children and adolescents, carried out by the Coordination of Children and Youth and the State Secretariat for Citizenship, observing the principle of absolute priority for children and adolescents, with the aim of placing them safe from all forms of neglect, discrimination, exploitation, violence, cruelty and oppression. The event will be at Governador.

At 7pm, Riedel will deliver the renovation, expansion and revitalization of the José Otávio Guizzo Cultural Center. The space is located at Rua 26 de Agosto, 453, in the center of Campo Grande. In total, R$8.8 million was invested. The work was completed after 300 days and will revive the cultural movement in the space that has already hosted major events.

One of the main objectives is the resumption of theater plays, courses, workshops and actions that value artists from Mato Grosso do Sul. The work was also part of the “Retomada MS” program.

The Cultural Center is on the land where the old Campo Grande power plant (1919) operated, which later became the Campo Grande District Forum in the 1960s. On October 11, 1984, the cultural space was founded by the State Government. The space has been closed for the last 8 years.
