Women and the dial have always had a lot of harmony and intimacy. They are regular listeners and played an important role in the transformations that helped make the most popular means of communication in the world grow. After all, when it comes to the audience, they are the overwhelming majority.

Radio has always been a vehicle that naturally connected with women of all classes. Although the professionals who command the microphones of broadcasters throughout Brazil are still, for the most part, men, women have sought their space and several professionals are appearing and standing out across the country. I dare say that, in the behind-the-scenes work of the dial, they are already the majority.

And the Brasilian radio station Atividade FM also decided to invest in a program produced and presented by women to strengthen and help to establish a space that they are already conquering over time. The program “Papo Brasília”, presented and produced by Mayara Noronha and Rhayanny Freitas, which debuted on March 21st, seems to have come to show that women can inspire and that they don’t need “poor things”. They just want their space and to be valued.

Atividade FM enters, once again, the history of radio in Brasilia. It is important to remember that the station founded and created by businessman, politician and communicator Wigberto Tartuce, affectionately known as “Vigão”, was the first Modulated Frequency (FM) in Brazil to dedicate 100% of its musical programming to country culture.

Returning to the program “Papo Brasília”, which I heard its premiere with clinical ears, I can say that it has everything to consolidate. In charge of the program, two strong women who arrived to be bold. Lawyer Mayara Noronha, the first lady of the Federal District, is very articulate, speaks well and dominates the subjects she proposes to debate. Rhayanny Freitas, wife of businessman Wigberto Tartuce, has been one of the producers of the most watched program on radio in Brasilia for years: “Domingão do Vigão”.

The second program “Papo Brasília” will air this Thursday, April 4, from 11am to 12pm, on Rádio Atividade FM 107.1. I don’t know what awaits us, but I’m sure that the Tartuce clan and the broadcaster’s director, Henrique Moronari, have the “daring meter” right up there.
