March 2024 was the least violent month in the last 14 years, according to data from the Coordination of Statistical Information and Criminal Analysis (COINE). During this period, 71 violent deaths were recorded, which represents a reduction of 25.2% compared to March 2023, when 95 deaths occurred.

Data consolidated by Coine from the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Sesed) demonstrate that, when comparing the months of March year by year, March 2024 presented the lowest rate of violence since 2011.

This trend extends to the first quarter of 2024. Between January 1st and March 31st, the number of violent deaths in the state reduced by 23.8% compared to the same period in 2023. According to COINE, in the first three months of 2023 , 294 violent deaths were recorded, while this year, in the same period, 224 incidents were recorded.
