In his vote, Falavinha said that the PT seeks to prevent Moro from participating in political life. According to the rapporteur, the party was contradictory for having sought to prevent Moro from running for the Senate in the state of São Paulo, taking legal action that blocked the former judge’s change of electoral domicile. Later, says the rapporteur, the party accused the senator of having made excessive expenditures in Paraná.

In other words, the investigator [PT] sought, and succeeded, in preventing the candidate from being investigated in another state of the federation. Then, he states that there is excess spending in Paraná, because it would have exceeded the limit provided by law here. It is contradictory behavior that, it seems, seeks to prevent the person being investigated [Moro] to participate in political life
Judge Luciano Falavinha, rapporteur of the case against Moro at TRE-PR

Moro’s trial at TRE-PR began today, and Falavinha was the first to vote. The session will resume on Wednesday (3), starting at 2 pm, with the vote of the six other judges. The Court also set aside April 8 to analyze the case.

The Electoral Public Ministry was in favor of Moro’s impeachment. The body defends that the ticket elected with Moro be revoked and that the senator becomes ineligible.

The initial narrative of abuse of economic power was not evidenced by the evidence produced. Pre-campaign expenses, duly accounted for, do not provide robust evidence to revoke the diploma of those being investigated. The history of expenses, analyzed one by one, does not authorize the conclusion of an illicit act for revocation
