Fernando, 24 years old, presented himself to the police on Monday afternoon (1st), 38 hours after fleeing the scene of the accident. “He only said the basics so as not to blame himself,” said the police chief, adding that Fernando was cool and calm during his testimony.

The driver of the Porsche was charged with intentional homicide (when there is intent to kill). He must also respond for fleeing the scene of the accident and bodily harm, the latter due to the injuries suffered by the passenger who was with Fernando in the Porsche. Initially, the case had been registered as culpable homicide (when there is no intention to kill).

Fernando’s defense stated on Sunday (31) that he was “in a state of shock”. Today, the lawyer Carine Garcia informed that he would find out about the case and speak out.

Driver denied having consumed alcohol

Police chief says that Fernando did not confess that he had drunk alcohol. In a press interview, Alves said that Fernando, in his statement, declared that he was driving the Porsche, hit the back of the Sandero and was “at a speed that was incompatible” with Avenida Salim Farah Maluf. The speed limit on the road is 50 km/h.
