A 74-year-old fisherman went missing after going fishing in the Francisco River, on Tuesday (26), in a stretch between the cities of Ibotirama and Muquém de São Francisco, in western Bahia.
According to the Ibotirama police, João Ferreira dos Santos’ boat was found on Wednesday (27), near the community of Itaim. On the boat there was a fishing net and all of the elderly man’s belongings.

The family believes that João Ferreira may have gone down the river at some point and taken shelter. He had already felt dizzy and forgot some things in the last week, according to family members to g1.
The case remains investigated by the Civil Police and teams from the Ibotirama Fire Department are working to find him. According to a report from TV Oeste, a TV Bahia affiliate in the region, men from the Fire Department from other regions of Bahia are being called to help in the search for the elderly man.
