Ingrid Zanella leads the 2nd edition of the female leadership event at OAB-PE

With the aim of strengthening, empowering and encouraging the participation of women in decision-making environments, the Brazilian Bar Association – Pernambuco Section (OAB-PE), hosted this Tuesday (26), the 2nd edition of a meeting with leaders women in Pernambuco, promoted by the startup “Quero Você Eleita”. The vice-president of OAB-PE, Ingrid Zanella, led the initiative together with the startup’s co-founder, Gabriela Rollemberg. The meeting took place in the foyer of OAB-PE and brought together female personalities from politics, the legal world and the legal profession, among them, the vice-governor of the State, Priscila Krause.

For the vice-president of the Order, Ingrid Zanella, positive actions of inclusion and representation mean that there will always be more egalitarian places with equal opportunities for all. “We, women, make up 52% ​​of the electorate in the country. We are 51% of the legal profession in Pernambuco and, as we are the majority, we want to see ourselves in the spaces. The majority are not being represented. We want women directors, women presidents. We want equal pay and opportunities. So, representation is about building democracy,” she explained.

When speaking, the deputy governor of the State, Priscila Krause, spoke about the importance of the meeting. “It is a moment of debate, form and inspiration for women to participate in public life and the importance of voting for these women to make a difference in building a fairer society. Movements like this are fundamental for us to exercise fuller democracy,” she stressed.

For the president of the Caixa de Assistência dos Advogados de Pernambuco (CAAPE), Anne Cabral, women need to be astute to secure spaces. “We, women, walking in any space, be it economic or political power, need to be more perceptive than men who are in the same conditions as us. To be able to occupy any space, a woman needs double, triple the cunning”, she highlighted.

“We are sowing a new policy. The politics of the new time. A peace policy, built on a network, in which everyone understands that we are in the same boat and need to row in the same direction. At the very least, in terms of human dignity”, said the CEO of the startup Quero Você Eleita, Gabriela Rollemberg.

Also coordinating the event was the president of the OAB-PE Women Lawyers Commission, Isabella Lessa. Councilors, jurists, presidents of subsections and commissions of the OAB-PE participated in the initiative. The day’s extensive program included workshops, lectures and conversation circles.
