Jair Renan, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, announced on Monday (25), his affiliation with the Liberal Party (PL).
Alongside the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello (PL), president of the party in the State, Jair Renan also officially launched the pre-candidacy for the position of councilor for Balneário Camboriú (SC) in this year’s elections.
At the beginning of March, at a charity bingo for a guide dog school, son “04″ had already informed about his pre-candidacy. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he lives in the city on the coast of Santa Catarina, where, since March 2023, he has worked as a parliamentary assistant in the support office of Senator Jorge Seif (PL-SC).
Referring to the people of Santa Catarina as “southern compatriots”, the pre-candidate wrote that he is “in this war until after the end”. “For our freedom,” he said on Instagram. He also thanked Jorginho “for this great honor of being part of the PL team”.
In the comments of the publication, deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) congratulated his brother and wished him “success”. “The only certainty is that it will not be easy and the charge will be at least double the normal amount,” said Eduardo.
