This Tuesday morning (26/03), the Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police provided support to the Santa Catarina Civil Police in Operation Tinder. The objective of the action is to dismantle a criminal group responsible for vehicle theft and extortion of owners.
During the investigations, some direct authors and beneficiaries of the criminal scheme were identified. Court orders were complied with in the cities of Florianópolis/SC, Palhoça/SC and Cachoeira do Sul/RS.
The robbery occurred after a simulated meeting via a dating app, with the victim surrendering after going to the previously indicated location. In this case, after the victim met the alleged suitor, he was instructed to go to a remote location close to the road bypass works, in the city of Palhoça / SC, where he was taken over by three other individuals who were armed.
The criminals kept the victim in their possession inside the vehicle, where they remained with firearms making threats and forced him to carry out banking operations through the banking application installed on the stolen smartphone, as well as on a card machine, which belonged to a banking company. one of those involved in the criminal action.
After these events, the individuals abandoned the victim in a deserted location in Palhoça/SC and stole the vehicle, smartphone and cash, and remain to this day demanding money for the eventual return of the vehicle. This group is suspected of carrying out two other criminal actions with the same modus operandi, in the Greater Florianópolis region.
The action had the operational support of the Specialized Police Stations of Deic/SC and the 20th Regional Police Station of Cachoeira do Sul/RS.
