The headquarters of the 2nd Company of the Military Police Battalion (BPM), named Companhia Coronel Adilson Alves, was inaugurated this Monday (25) by the Military Police of Santa Catarina (PMSC). The space is located in the Ingleses neighborhood, North of the Island, in Florianópolis.

The Battalion will be responsible for policing approximately 82 thousand inhabitants of the neighborhoods of Ingleses, Santinho and Rio Vermelho. During the summer, the number of people in this region usually triples to visit the beaches in the North of the Island.

The building was built after Florianópolis City Hall (PMF) donated land and with funds from parliamentary amendments by councilors. The work, with an investment budgeted at R$716 thousand, was donated to the Military Police of Santa Catarina (PMSC) during the ceremony.

According to the general commander, Colonel Pelozato, the new unit represents an effective participation of the PMSC in the region.

— We are always seeking to better serve our population and at the same time safeguard the best working conditions for our corporation. This unit guarantees both — says the colonel.

The construction of the headquarters of Companhia Coronel Adilson Alves is part of a partnership between the Military Police, Florianópolis City Hall (PMF) and the City Council. On the occasion, the mayor of Florianópolis, Topázio Neto, symbolically handed over the keys of the 2nd CIA to the general commander of the PMSC, Colonel Aurélio José Pelozato da Rosa.

Plaques of thanks were also delivered to the mayor and councilors who donated funds from parliamentary amendments for the construction.
