A doctor was caught apparently drunk while on duty at an Emergency Care station in the city of Monte Sião, in the interior of Minas Gerais. The case occurred this Sunday, the 5th, and was recorded by one of the patients, who exposes the doctor’s face and claims that he is drunk.
“I came here with Doctor Everton in the emergency room, look at the situation the doctor is in. Look at the way I was treated”, says the patient. The doctor even tries to intervene: “Oh come on, calm down, come on,” he says.
The doctor was identified as Everton Sagiorato and he was removed from duty on Sunday. The mayor of Monte Sião, José Pocai, used his social networks to clarify the case.
“He arrived with a mask, they couldn’t understand how he was, what state he was in and he came to assist two people here and people complained, they [funcionárias da unidade] They came to check and then stopped the doctor’s care with other people”, he details.
The mayor, however, emphasizes that he considers him a good professional. “A doctor who serves people very well in the public network and also in the polyclinic, and here in the emergency department as well, he always works shifts here in the emergency department”, he says.
The doctor was replaced on Sunday. Mayor José Pocai also states that measures are being taken.
O Earth did not find any means of contacting doctor Everton Sagiorato to request a position, the space remains open.
According to the newspaper The globethe patient who filmed the situation filed a police report about the case.
