The demand for so-called isotonic drinks has increased considerably in recent weeks here in the region, due to cases of dengue fever. This is because, in suspected cases of dengue fever, doctors recommend to patients that the priority should be hydration, with drinking water, coconut water, juices, teas, isotonic drinks and homemade serum, made by diluting a spoon (of coffee ) with salt and two tablespoons of sugar for each liter of water.
Here in Jaraguá do Sul, there was a lack of isotonic drinks in the markets. Last Thursday (2), for example, the manager of one of the Cooper stores spoke to our reporter and confirmed that demand for these products had tripled.
