This Saturday (4), through an emergency air operation, 52 vials of the clotting factor medication were sent to five patients with hemophilia in the municipalities of Arroio do Meio and Cruzeiro do Sul. They lost their monthly doses during the floods that occurred. this week in Rio Grande do Sul.

The medicine is administered at home and is necessary so that the person with hemophilia does not run the risk of bleeding to death. It is distributed by the Hematology Clinic – of the State Department of Blood and Blood Products, of the Department of Health (SES) – free of charge by the Unified Health System (SUS).

Air transport was coordinated between the SES and the Military Brigade (BM). The helicopter that carried out the flight, an Agusta-Westland AW-109SP, registered PR-HAH, left the field of the BM Gymnasium, in Porto Alegre, and was made available by Havan, which is one of the voluntary institutions for actions in the situation of public calamity in the State.
