The businesswoman Fabiana Justus explained this Wednesday (24) that the Unified Health System, SUS, was the one who paid for the arrival of the bone marrow transported to Brazil. She explained that this rule applies to everyone who needs the same procedure.

“The entire transplant procedure, from collecting the marrow until it reaches the recipient, is carried out by the SUS. Regardless of whether I am in a private hospital, paying for the treatment, this transplant process, of the marrow reaching you (…) is the SUS. Outside, it is the SUS that guarantees, that does, that organizes. Everyone has this right“, she stated.

In the conversation, she also stated that the donor did not need to come to Brazil. “My donor donated there in his city, it’s like a bag, like it was made of blood, but it’s orange. He does it in his city, he doesn’t need to come,” she said.

Fabiana Justus He also said that the procedure is not considered surgery. “It’s not, I received it through a catheter like I received it through a blood transfusion. It’s a really crazy thing, the science is revolutionary,” she said.
