Monja Coen revealed that he is in skin cancer treatment, in videos posted on her social networks this Thursday, the 28th. In them, the 76-year-old Zen Buddhist nun says she is undergoing localized chemotherapy sessions, applying ointment to the skin that is likely to contain cancerous cells.

“I’m giving feedback on my treatment. It gets worse before it gets better, you see,” she comments, showing wounds on her face and head. “I said I’m turning into an alligator because this crust is very hard. After becoming an alligator, who knows, who knows, I’ll turn into a fish again, right?”, she says.

She also reassures her followers about the effectiveness of chemotherapy: “It’s just so you know. It works. The treatment is like that and it’s improving. I went to the doctor yesterday and she said: ‘Congratulations’. So, don’t worry.”

At another point, the nun reflects on the transience of difficult situations: “Just to remember that everything that begins has a middle and an end. I’m in a healing process and it’s ugly. It gets really ugly, but then it gets better. That’s how life is . Sometimes we go through moments when things are not as we would like. We are not in the best state of health, in the best financial state, relationships are difficult, but everything has a beginning, middle and end.”
