In mid-April, Maya spoke about the subject for the first time on her Instagram profile.

“Sometimes, what we need is to go back to our mother’s womb… but that option is not possible. I was surviving and not living. I had to take a break from everything to find myself. It was that or go away to another plane. I needed to stay away from the internet and treat myself. But I’m going back and I want to tell/share everything with you who have always been with me”, she began.

On social media, Maya confirmed that she underwent facial surgery and suffered complications that left her temporarily blind. “In a surgery I had in Curitiba, due to medical or team error, I did have vision loss, however, I went to another hospital the same day.
