Even though she spends her life cleanly in an autobiography, “Lady of my destiny”, Susana Vieira reserves an excerpt from the book so as not to say everything about “the worst days” of her life. But that doesn’t mean she spares some details about what she felt. The episode she refers to occurred in 2008, with the end of her marriage to former police officer Marcelo Silva. The actress, aged 66 at the time, discovered a betrayal in the newspapers.

“I’ve always been aware that love lasts as long as it has to last. At the same time, when I’m in love, I always think I’m going to live with that person my whole life! I can’t start a love relationship thinking it will only last two years. I woke up one day with a betrayal reported in the newspapers: ‘Susana Vieira’s husband has had a lover for months’. Weeks after the end, Marcelo was found dead in an apartment hotel in Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone of Rio.
