Arapongas City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Public Security and Traffic (Sestran), opened this Monday, 6th, the activities of the Yellow May 2024 campaign – “Peace in traffic begins in your attitudes”. The event brought together authorities at the Milene Cultural Station, such as the mayor of Arapongas, Sérgio Onofre, the Secretary of Security, Paulo Argati, councilors from the allied base and the commander of the 7th CIPM, Major Wolski.
The Secretary of Security, Paulo Argati, highlighted the importance of the movement that seeks to involve the largest number of people, providing information and awareness to reduce traffic accidents and deaths. “We had significant reductions in traffic, the result of the sum of investments in urban mobility, signage and inspection. But it is important that the conduct of each driver and pedestrian is in accordance with traffic legislation. Traffic is a whole”, he reinforced.
The commander of the 7th CIPM, Major Wolski, highlighted the integrated actions that will take place throughout the month, also reinforcing the need for good choices in traffic. “The Military Police will be with the GMA providing guidance and monitoring. Currently, between 102 and 105 thousand vehicles circulate in Arapongas. Therefore, daily and adequate planning on the part of drivers is important”, he reinforced.
According to Mayor Sérgio Onofre, in addition to all the strategic actions in traffic education, the municipality will count on new investments to strengthen the segment. “To develop a good traffic culture, we need to involve more and more people from different age groups. And in addition, we will invest more in transit. We signed an agreement with the government of Paraná to provide R$540,000 for signage,” he announced.
The act also included the participation of the captain of the Fire Department, captain Olesh, assistant delegate of the 22nd Subdivision of the Civil Police of Arapongas, Dr. Anderson Seiji Kudo, secretary of Education, Zanza Bobato Cortez, president of ACIA, Anderson Molina, director of Traffic, Major Gussi, superintendent of GMA, Micheletti, head of the 17th Ciretran of Arapongas, Laércio Scarpeta, and the president of the Community Public Security Council (Conseg), Wesley Squilino and the students of the Alzira Horvatich Municipal School (civic-military discipline ), from the Conjunto Flamingos region.
