Actor Ryan Gosling surrendered to his wife, actress Eva Mendes, by revealing the great commandment of his life, the principle he follows in all his decisions: “Ask Eva first”. The 43-year-old star made the revelation while appearing on ‘The Late Show’, a program run by presenter Stephen Colbert.
Gosling gave the interview to Stephen Colbert in the middle of his work promoting ‘The Stuntman’ (2024), his new film.
Ryan Gosling and Ava Mendes began their relationship in 2011, while filming the drama ‘The Place Where It All Ends’ (2012). They are parents of Esmeralda (9 years old) and Amada (8 years old). The couple is extremely discreet about their personal life and is careful about exposing their daughters’ images.
Records of Gosling and Mendes on red carpets and other Hollywood events are rare. The two also never shared photos of their daughters on social media.
In an excerpt from Gosling’s interview with Colbert, the actor was asked by the host to “describe the rest of your life in just five words.” The ‘Barbie’ (2023) heartthrob didn’t hesitate: “Ask Eva first.”
Eva Mendes stepped away from her acting career in 2014, after working on ‘Rio Perdido’, Gosling’s directorial debut. In 2021 she voiced an episode of the children’s cartoon ‘Bluey’. Over the last few years she has focused on raising her daughters and running her own brand of beauty products.
Recently, in a conversation with a fan on Instagram, the actress suggested that she might return to the big screen in the near future, including in partnership with her husband. The follower asked when she and Gosling will work together again, and the star replied: “Soon!! Much love to you!”, even including the emoji of a smiling face.
