SOS Rio Grande do Sul 2024: Gisele, Xuxa and 10 other famous gauchos who are using their fame to help the state’s disaster

Rio Grande do Sul has been in a state of public calamity since last Wednesday (1) due to the torrential rains that have fallen over the state. According to governor Eduardo Leite, it is already the ‘biggest disaster in the history of Rio Grande do Sul’. To date, 39 deaths, 68 missing and 74 injured have been confirmed.

Many celebrities are using their fame to get help for people who are suffering from the rains in the state. Among them are several celebrities who were born in Rio Grande do Sul and try to find a way to help those in need in their home state.

1) Xuxa

Xuxa used her Instagram stories to share the PIX of the Rio Grande do Sul government’s donation channel, aimed at raising money for humanitarian support for the victims.

2) Luísa Sonza

Luísa Sonza, from Rio Grande do Sul, published several videos of the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul on her Instagram feed. “Guys, the situation in my state, Rio Grande do Sul, is very sad and complicated. They are living through the greatest catastrophe in history and they need us“, he wrote. Sonza also shared several videos and information in her stories.

3) Vitória Strada

Just like Luísa Sonza, Vitória Strada shared several videos on her Instagram feed and in her stories. “The biggest catastrophe since 1941 is now happening. The Guaíba River rises 8cm per hour and is expected to reach 5m. Cities being evacuated, families losing their homes, their families… It is up to us to mobilize people and help as much as we can“, he wrote.

4) Daiane dos Santos

Daiane dos Santos recorded a series of stories talking about the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul and asking people to help however they can.

5) Barbara Labres

DJ Bárbara Labres experienced moments of great tension because her parents still live in Rio Grande do Sul and were missing. She was unable to contact them and only managed to do so again on Friday afternoon. Bárbara has already made three posts on her feed talking about the tragedy and asking for help, in addition to using all of her stories for this.

6) Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen published videos on her Instagram story showing the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. The model used her international fame and wrote in English and Portuguese that she is praying for the people there.

7) Sharon Menezzes

Sheron Menezzes also used her stories as a way to propagate the Rio Grande do Sul government’s PIX that is collecting donations, in addition to sharing images about what has been happening in the state.

8) Matteus Amaral

On ‘BBB 24’, Matteus started to be called Alegrete after his city of the same name in Rio Grande do Sul. Now, he uses his visibility to ask for help for his state. Matteus created a solidarity campaign that has already raised more than R$3 million for humanitarian aid in Rio Grande do Sul. He led the fundraising, which had the support of several famous people, including former BBBs.

9) Victor Kley

Vitor Kley recorded a video asking for help for people who are suffering in the tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. The singer published the video on his Instagram feed along with various information about what has been happening in the state as well as ways to help those in need.

10) Ana Hickmann

Ana Hickmann also posted a video on her Instagram feed showing how Rio Grande do Sul is doing due to the intense rain. “My heart is in pieces seeing the situation in my beloved Rio Grande do Sul. Once again, the intense rains left the state underwater and we need to come together to help those who are struggling there. All regions are affected! Can I count on you?”he asked, also informing various forms of help for the local population.

SOS Rio Grande do Sul

The Government of Rio Grande do Sul created a direct channel to collect donations for humanitarian aid during the rain tragedy. The idea is to centralize donations, in order to speed up assistance for people who are suffering from the disaster. It is possible to send any amount to the Pix key managed by Palácio Piratini.

The transfer must be made to CNPJ: 92.958.800/0001-38. The money will be sent to the “SOS Rio Grande do Sul” account at Banrisul bank.
