Dancer vents and reveals conversation with Ratinho after embarrassment on SBT

Cintia Mello, former dancer on Programa do Ratinho, made an outburst after being embarrassed by presenter Carlos Massa, aka Ratinho, during the SBT attraction. The communicator who owns Rede Massa was accused of making a racist joke live with the professional. In a conversation with Quem, she said that the episode occurred at a particularly difficult time for her, further aggravating her emotional situation.

“At the beginning of that scene, I had no idea what was coming. We had freedom to play and it was always healthy fun, as I was there as a dancer, soon to be recognized for my beauty and dance. I was already having an atypical day, because while I was working, my daughter was in the hospital, so I wasn’t very well,” she said.

During the live program, Ratinho suggested that Cintia Mello was wearing a wig and claimed to have seen a louse in her hair. “When my hair was linked to lice, I didn’t know how to react. From then on, I really felt automatic because I was embarrassed,” she said. The dancer revealed that she sought out Ratinho for a conversation, but they were unable to understand each other in the way she expected.

“After all the repercussions, I tried to talk to the man himself. [Ratinho] and it was a really friendly conversation, in which I explained to him some points about the situation, and how upset and destabilized I was by it all. I had an answer for a while, but then the dialogue ended, because I didn’t receive any more answers”, said the artist, who worked on the Programa do Ratinho ballet for nine years.

“We all know how many controversies have already been raised due to some of his statements, and in some of them he himself later clarified. And that’s what I thought would happen to me. I would never make a false statement against a boss who is truly loved by his employees, but who, unfortunately, as a communicator, needs to rebuild himself and give new meaning to some thoughts and statements”, concluded Cintia Mello.

On April 1st, Ratinho made jokes about the ballerina’s hair and suggested that she had lice due to the hairstyle she currently wears. The presenter asked assistant Milene Pavorô to check her hair to see if she had a wig. The dancer even smiled for the cameras, but later said on social media that she was upset with the whole situation.

According to the website Notícias da TV, Ratinho spoke at the time through his press office and said he did not agree with the public’s reaction to his attitude on the SBT program. “He doesn’t agree with the way they interpreted the matter,” said the businessman and auditorium entertainer’s Communications team.
